About JHP

Who We Are

James Hope Partners (JHP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening children, families, and communities through trauma-informed, resilience-focused, child-centered programs delivered in partnership with local communities.

JHP works at the intersection of youth development, mental health promotion, family stability, and community capacity. We recognize that child well-being is shaped not only by individual services, but by the broader environments in which children live, learn, and grow.

Our initial implementation is focused in Northern Virginia, where JHP is launching pilot programming within a scalable, partnership-driven framework designed to strengthen communities and expand opportunity for young people and families.

The Mission

JHP strengthens children, families, and communities through trauma-informed, resilience-focused, youth-centered programs and community partnerships that promote healing and long-term well-being.

Our Approach

JHP is building a community-based program framework that brings together trauma-informed practice, systems thinking, and professional social work principles to support children, families, and communities.

Our goal is to create safe, supportive environments where young people can grow, families can strengthen, and communities can begin to heal and revitalize.

Research consistently demonstrates that strong protective factors—stable relationships, supportive environments, and positive youth engagement—can help mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and improve long-term outcomes for children and families.

Programs grounded in these principles have been shown to:

• Improve youth engagement and educational outcomes
• Strengthen family stability and functioning
• Increase social connectedness and community cohesion
• Reduce risk factors associated with long-term adverse outcomes

These approaches are most effective when they are accessible, consistent, and integrated into the communities they serve.

Through partnership, prevention-focused programming, and community engagement, James Hope Partners works to strengthen the environments where children and families live, learn, and grow.

Founder Perspective

" Children and families do not experience challenges in isolation. Their well-being is shaped by the environments in which they live, the relationships that surround them, and the opportunities available within their communities.

Throughout my career working across community organizations, public health systems, and national initiatives, I have seen the importance of strengthening not only individual services, but the broader environments that support children and families.

James Hope Partners was created from the belief that when communities invest in supportive relationships, prevention-focused programming, and opportunities for young people to grow and lead, lasting change becomes possible."
